Dynamic Languages RoboCup Simulation League

Competition

OVERVIEW

 

We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the RoboCup Federation the 1st annual Dynamic Languages RoboCup Simulation League Competion.

 

The RoboCup Federation competions are an academic endeavor to further the state of the of the art in the fields of multi-agent systems and artificial intelligence.

 

The purpose of the Dynamic Languages RoboCup Simulation League Competion is to help create and establish free dynamic language based client templates and libraries and to ultimately involve a greater number of dynamic language based clients in the actual simulation league competions.

 

A basic dumb client can be implemented in approximately two days!

 

RULES FOR PARTICIAPTION

1. All submitted clients should adhere to the official rules and guidelines established by the RoboCup Simulation League

Committee.

 

2. All clients should be written from scratch and interact directly with the Soccer Server. Submitted clients should not exploit the existing C, Java & Perl libraries which allow you to program and implement your client at a higher level

of abstraction.

 

3. Clients will only be accepted in the following languages:

 

   LISP

   Scheme

   ML

   Dylan

   Smalltalk

   Haskell

   Logo

 

Participants are welcome to use *any* free or commercial version or implementation of these languages. If you are not sure if your favorite language or implementation qualifies, please do not hesitate to ask.

 

4. Participants should feel free to examine the existing free clients for examples on how to implement a soccer client. These are available for download from the RoboCup Simulation League website. See the "Resources" section below for the relevant links.

 

5. Participants will be required to submit the source code that implements their clients prior to the competition.
