Title: Bioinformatics.Org and Bioinformatics: Past, Present and Future

Abstract: This talk is about the topic of bioinformatics and the organization, bioinformatics.org. Bioinformtics.org is the leading scientific organization promoting freedom and openness in all of bioinformatics, not just for software. We have more than 3200 members worldwide as of today. We are experiencing geometric growth since summer 2001. We host 63 projects; all are free and open source. Many of them are cutting edge, world-class research and development projects of bioinformatics.
